  Description A new method is presented to compute the normal depth in circular conduit. This is the rough model method (RMM). It states that the linear dimension of a con duit or channel is equal to the linear dimension of a referential rough model corrected by the effect of a non-dimensional correction factor. The method is based on the Colebrook-White and Darcy-Weisbach relationships, applicable to the entire domain of turbulent flow. From the relationship governing the flow in the rough model, the normal depth in a circular conduit is explicitly deduced Une nouvelle méthode est présentée pour calculer la profondeur normale dans une conduite circulaire.C'est la méthode du modèle rugueux (MMR). Elle énonce que la dimension linéaire d'une conduite ou d’un canal est égale àla dimension linéaire d'un modèle rugueux de référence corrigée par l'effet d'un facteur de correction adimensionnel. La méthode est basée sur les relations de Colebrook-White et de Darcy-Weisbach, applicables à l'ensemble du domaine de l'écoulement turbulent. De la relation qui régit l’écoulement dans le modèle rugueux, la profondeur normale dans une conduite circulaire est explicitement déduite.
